We are going to take a look at BBC news and compare it to a news media outlet in the United States. I chose CNN for the U.S. because it is one of the news outlets that I happen to consume. In this article, we will take a look at what news topics they find important. This will be done in 3 steps:

  1. We will take a look at what topics are covered in their respective homepages.
  2. What topics are covered in their respective “local” news?
  3. What topics do they choose to cover in international news?

This is with the information provided on November 8, 2020.*

What are the main topics or issues are covered?

Let’s begin with BBC news, the following images are screenshots from their homepage today. Let me remind everyone that the election just passed so this may be a highly covered topic, regardless let’s take a closer look.
