Nope, that is not me… this is…

I am writing this article about an issue that is important to me for my graduate course, MMC5006: Introduction to Multimedia, at the University of Florida in the College of Journalism and Communications. The issue is Psoriasis and how it affects your life with others or not that much if you don’t let it. Sure, I can go into a bit of detail about the disease, however, the purpose of this article is more for awareness… which will be made more apparent as the article continues.

What is Psoriasis?

According to the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, Psoriasis is a chronic autoimmune skin disease that speeds up the growth cycle of skin cells. It causes red, itchy, scaly patches, most commonly on the knees, elbows, trunk, & scalp but can appear anywhere on the body. I have had it appear on my fingers, hands, legs, knees, arms, elbows, scalp, groin, and even my butt. Psoriasis does not have a cure and is considered a “chronic” or long term disease.
