Let’s begin by introducing the person, in the above image, Marshall McLuhan. He was a Canadian philosopher who studied media theory. He had a belief that “the medium is the message”. Mediums, for media messages to be delivered, have evolved throughout the years.

The first mediums were face to face or by word of mouth from someone people knew. Let’s use selling property as an example. Think about it like this…. your friend goes to the town, sees someone selling their house, and comes back to the other side of town to tell you that he saw that house for sale.

The next mediums that evolved were print such as newspapers. The same example is now… the person that is selling their property puts an ad in the newspaper and then everyone that reads it, including you can now read about that news.
