What is causing this decrease in human attention span?
Well, first things first… we are being inundated with content from everywhere social media platforms from Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, Snapchat, Pinterest, YouTube, Instagram, Twitch, Tumblr, and even video streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, or the like. This dramatic increase in content is even further accessible to us because of our mobile devices. Unlimited information is available at our fingertips and this causes us to get tired of what we see…faster. We crave new content with an insatiable hunger. Media can shape society and we will need to take a look at how we can still use mass communication to grow a business, sell a product, inform people, build public opinion, persuasion, and bring awareness to social injustice. Social media has created an interconnected world and this can be used to our advantage.
